More Happy Campers

We had the time of our life! We will be back next year.

"I wanted to thank you for helping me arrange a trail ride for my wife. We were up to the farm this past Saturday, and my wife went for a two hour trail ride. She absolutely loved it!! I have to compliment Brad and his staff on the condition of the field, considering the rain we had Friday night, and just how great the entire property looks."
Merrill Shaffer Lancaster, PA

"Brad,
I wanted to thank you for the excellent week-end we had on August 2nd. Kent Tekulve was one of the most outgoing "pros" I have ever met. He was kind, knowledgeable and VERY approachable. I was invited to bring my family and play with Bill Smithson and the Greensward team. Kent spent the first three innings pitching and then "hung out" around the entire field and talked not only to the players, but also to the children. What a great thing for baseball in general. Your field is amazing and the level of competition was pretty surprising."
Sincerely,
Christopher Wittmeyer

 Phil's Trip

Shuey and Johnny's Trip

Dear Brad,
When I heard of Tug's death tonight on the news, as a baseball fan and a Phillies fan, I was devastated.
Many of us remember the moment in 1980 when Tug made winners of all those masochists who followed the hard-luck Phils through the years. (My wife still claims we were married in '80 just so I would never forget our anniversary year.)
However, my best memory of him happened at your ballpark in 2000. I can still see him sitting in that lawn chair on the bank by your barbecue grill, patiently signing autographs and chatting with all his fans. Then he took the mound and was equally entertaining there as well.
It was my first trip to Doubleday but certainly not my last. My oldest daughter especially loves coming to see all the stars you attract to your ballpark, especially if they wear a Phillies' "P" on their uniform.
That night Tug signed one of your baseballs for me and one for my daughter. Since then we have acquired several more signatures of the 1980 Phils on those same two baseballs, some of them at Doubleday.
Meeting Tug was special for us. I just had to tell you what it meant to be there under the stars on that warm summer evening. Thanks a million.
Sincerely, Chuck Berrier Carlisle, PA |
